Alsion Elementary
Alsion Elementary guides children ages 6-12 to cultivate a love of learning through purposeful, hands-on work in a small, close-knit community. Children build academic understanding, independence, thoughtful reasoning, and a strong sense of belonging as they explore an interconnected world.
Elementary children bring powerful imagination, growing social awareness, and an intense desire to understand how the world works. Through Cosmic Education, concrete Montessori materials, collaborative work, and gradually increasing responsibility, they learn to connect ideas across disciplines and make meaningful contributions to their community.
Children study language and literature, mathematics and geometry, science and nature, history and geography, artistic and physical expression, and practical and community life. Lessons move from concrete experience toward abstraction, from compelling stories toward disciplined study, and from individual interest toward shared knowledge.
